Privacy Policy
Last updated: 14 October 2026
AceTheirTest.com ("we", "us", "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal information when you use our website at acetheirtest.com.
1. Who We Are
AceTheirTest is an Australian-based online platform providing Australian Curriculum practice materials for school students — Maths and English practice from Kindergarten to Year 10, mastery lessons for Years 2 to 10 — and a Writing Coach for Years 2 to 10. We are operated by an individual sole trader based in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia.

2. Information We Collect
We collect the following types of information:
- Account information: When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and (if you use Google Sign-In) your Google profile name and email.
- Payment information: Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store your credit card details. Stripe may store payment information in accordance with their own privacy policy.
- Usage data: With your consent, we use Google Analytics to collect anonymised information about how visitors use our site (pages visited, time on site, general location). This data does not identify you personally.
- Communications: If you contact us by email, we retain that correspondence.
- Child profiles (optional): Subscribers can add child profiles (one on the Single Child plan, up to three on the Family plan) — a first name (or nickname), an avatar chosen from a fixed list, and a school year level. Child profiles have no email address, password or login of their own, and this information is only visible inside the parent's account.
- Practice and game progress: Test results and game progress (levels, stars and scores for Word Rush, Maths Sprint and Times Table), and practice-test Ace Points, are stored against the parent account, per child profile, so children can pick up where they left off.
- Welcome emails (optional): When you create an account you can tick a box to receive a short welcome and a few practice tips by email. If you do, your email address is added to our MailerLite list. Every email has a one-click unsubscribe link.
- Skills check report by email (optional): After the free skills check you can ask for the report by email. If you tick the box, we store your email address and the check result (school year, subject, score, suggested starting test and topics) in MailerLite to send it, followed by a few practice tips. No child's name is collected. Every email has a one-click unsubscribe link.
- Free-game email capture (optional): Some free game levels and friend-challenge links ask for a parent's email address before playing. This address is added to our newsletter list (see MailerLite below) and is never requested from a child's own account.
- Writing Coach and lesson results: When a child uses the Writing Coach or a mastery lesson, we store the skill scores it produces against the parent account, so progress shows on the Mastery Map. These are stored per child profile and are visible only inside the parent's account.
- Class codes: If you enter a class code in My Account, we record which code was used and when, so each family uses a code once and the access ends on the right date.
- Forms (contact, parent reviews, teacher feedback): When you send one of our website forms, we receive what you type, including your name and email address if you give them. These forms are handled by Netlify.
- Teacher accounts: If you buy the teacher worksheet plan, we store the name you give us. It is printed on each sheet you download as the licence for your own class.
Parent and teacher reviews
We only publish a review with the person's permission, in their own words. We show a first name and the child's year level (for example "parent of a Year 4 child"). We show a full name only if the person has told us they are happy for it to be shown. We never show a child's name, an email address, a photo or a suburb. To have a review changed or removed, email hello@acetheirtest.com.
3. How We Use Your Information
- To provide and manage your subscription and access to practice tests
- To send you important account and service emails (receipts, password resets)
- To improve our website and content based on anonymised usage data
- To respond to your enquiries
- To comply with our legal obligations
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.
4. Children's Privacy
Our service is designed for use by parents and guardians on behalf of school students. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13. Accounts must be created by a parent or guardian aged 18 or over. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information without parental consent, please contact us at hello@acetheirtest.com and we will delete it promptly.
For visitors in the United States: this service is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13, in accordance with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). Only a parent or guardian may register an account, provide payment details, and supply the account holder's name and email address. Children using practice tests do so within their parent's or guardian's account and do not create their own login credentials or submit personal information directly to us. If we become aware that we have inadvertently collected personal information directly from a child under 13 without verifiable parental consent, we will delete it promptly. Parents may contact us at hello@acetheirtest.com to review, request deletion of, or refuse further collection of their child's information.
Leaderboards, Hall of Fame and challenge links: Word Rush, Maths Sprint and Times Table include optional weekly leaderboards and a daily challenge, and the graded practice tests have an optional Ace Points "Hall of Fame". A child appears on any of these only after a parent switches it on inside the PIN-protected account area (a single switch per child controls them all). On leaderboards and friend-challenge links, children are only ever shown as an automatically generated nickname (such as "SwiftFox42") and a game avatar — never a real name, photo or email address. There is no chat or free-text messaging anywhere in the games. Switching the leaderboard off removes the child's entries from the current boards immediately. The parent-area PIN is stored as a salted cryptographic hash, which means we cannot read it.
5. Cookies
We use the following types of cookies:
- Essential cookies: Required for the site to function (login sessions, security). These are always active.
- Analytics cookies: Google Analytics cookies that help us understand how visitors use our site. These are only set with your consent.
You can withdraw your consent to analytics cookies at any time by clicking "Cookie Settings" in the footer of any page.
6. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services, each with their own privacy policies:

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it by law (e.g. payment records for tax purposes).
8. Your Rights (Australian Privacy Act)
Under the Australian Privacy Act 1988, you have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate information
- Request deletion of your account and personal data

If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), you have additional rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). If you are located in the United Kingdom, you have equivalent rights under the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018, enforced by the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO). These rights include the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of your personal information; the right to data portability; and the right to object to processing based on legitimate interests. Our lawful basis for processing is contract performance (for subscriptions) and consent (for analytics cookies).
Because our servers are located in Australia, using our service involves transferring your personal information outside the EEA and UK, to a country that does not currently have an EU or UK adequacy decision. We rely on your explicit consent, given when you create an account and agree to this policy, as the safeguard for this transfer. We only transfer the minimum personal information necessary to provide the service (your name, email, and subscription status), and our processors (Firebase and Stripe) each maintain their own GDPR-compliant transfer safeguards, including Standard Contractual Clauses, for the services they provide us.
To exercise your GDPR or UK GDPR rights, contact us at hello@acetheirtest.com. EU residents may lodge a complaint with their local supervisory authority; UK residents may contact the ICO at ico.org.uk.
10. California Residents (CCPA/CPRA)
If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA), gives you the right to:
- Know what personal information we collect, use, and disclose about you
- Request deletion of your personal information
- Correct inaccurate personal information
- Opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information — we do not sell or share your personal information, and never have
- Not be discriminated against for exercising any of these rights
To exercise any of these rights, email us at hello@acetheirtest.com with "California Privacy Request" in the subject line. We will verify your identity before responding and will respond within 45 days.
