Privacy Policy

Last updated: 12 July 2026

AceTheirTest.com ("we", "us", "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal information when you use our website at acetheirtest.com.

1. Who We Are

AceTheirTest is an Australian-based online platform providing ICAS-style practice materials for primary school students in Years 2–6. We are operated by an individual sole trader based in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia.

2. Information We Collect

We collect the following types of information:

3. How We Use Your Information

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.

4. Children's Privacy

Our service is designed for use by parents and guardians on behalf of primary school students. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13. Accounts must be created by a parent or guardian aged 18 or over. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information without parental consent, please contact us at hello@acetheirtest.com and we will delete it promptly.

For visitors in the United States: this service is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13, in accordance with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). Only a parent or guardian may register an account, provide payment details, and supply the account holder's name and email address. Children using practice tests do so within their parent's or guardian's account and do not create their own login credentials or submit personal information directly to us. If we become aware that we have inadvertently collected personal information directly from a child under 13 without verifiable parental consent, we will delete it promptly. Parents may contact us at hello@acetheirtest.com to review, request deletion of, or refuse further collection of their child's information.

Leaderboards, Hall of Fame and challenge links: Word Rush, Maths Sprint and Times Table include optional weekly leaderboards and a daily challenge, and the ICAS-style practice tests have an optional Ace Points "Hall of Fame". A child appears on any of these only after a parent switches it on inside the PIN-protected account area (a single switch per child controls them all). On leaderboards and friend-challenge links, children are only ever shown as an automatically generated nickname (such as "SwiftFox42") and a game avatar — never a real name, photo or email address. There is no chat or free-text messaging anywhere in the games. Switching the leaderboard off removes the child's entries from the current boards immediately. The parent-area PIN is stored as a salted cryptographic hash, which means we cannot read it.

5. Cookies

We use the following types of cookies:

You can withdraw your consent to analytics cookies at any time by clicking "Cookie Settings" in the footer of any page.

6. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services, each with their own privacy policies:

7. Data Storage and Security

Your account data is stored securely in Google Firebase, with servers located in Sydney, Australia. We use industry-standard security measures including encrypted connections (HTTPS) and secure authentication.

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it by law (e.g. payment records for tax purposes).

8. Your Rights (Australian Privacy Act)

Under the Australian Privacy Act 1988, you have the right to:

To exercise any of these rights, email us at hello@acetheirtest.com. We will respond within 30 days.

9. International Visitors (EU & UK GDPR)

If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), you have additional rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). If you are located in the United Kingdom, you have equivalent rights under the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018, enforced by the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO). These rights include the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of your personal information; the right to data portability; and the right to object to processing based on legitimate interests. Our lawful basis for processing is contract performance (for subscriptions) and consent (for analytics cookies).

Because our servers are located in Australia, using our service involves transferring your personal information outside the EEA and UK, to a country that does not currently have an EU or UK adequacy decision. We rely on your explicit consent, given when you create an account and agree to this policy, as the safeguard for this transfer. We only transfer the minimum personal information necessary to provide the service (your name, email, and subscription status), and our processors (Firebase and Stripe) each maintain their own GDPR-compliant transfer safeguards, including Standard Contractual Clauses, for the services they provide us.

To exercise your GDPR or UK GDPR rights, contact us at hello@acetheirtest.com. EU residents may lodge a complaint with their local supervisory authority; UK residents may contact the ICO at ico.org.uk.

10. California Residents (CCPA/CPRA)

If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA), gives you the right to:

To exercise any of these rights, email us at hello@acetheirtest.com with "California Privacy Request" in the subject line. We will verify your identity before responding and will respond within 45 days.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify subscribers of significant changes by email. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will always reflect the most recent version.
