What Maths Sprint is

Maths Sprint is a mental maths game for Years 2–6. A question appears, you pick from four answers, and the next one is already coming. It is built for speed of recall rather than working things out on paper. Each round lasts 90 seconds.

Mental maths is what frees a child up in a longer problem. If 7 × 8 has to be worked out, there is less attention left for the question that needed it.

How it is put together

• A separate ladder for each year. 5 tracks, one for each of Years 2–6, so a Year 3 child is not being asked Year 6 questions.
• 100 levels per year, 10 questions each. That is 5,000 questions in all, and they get harder as the ladder goes up.
• The first 5 levels of every year are free. No account is needed to try them. The rest come with a subscription.
• A weekly leaderboard. Your best score on each level counts, and the board starts fresh every Monday, so a good week is always within reach.

Is Maths Sprint free? The first 5 levels of all 5 year levels are, without signing in. Everything beyond that is part of the subscription.

What year is it for? Years 2–6. You pick the year, and the questions are pitched to it.

How long does a game take? About 90 seconds a round, with 10 questions in a level. It is designed for a few minutes at a time rather than a long sitting.
